Durable, Elegant Flooring for a High-Traffic Building Entrance
This Lido Beach building entrance sees constant foot traffic, sand, and moisture carried in from the beach just steps away. The property wanted a floor that could take that daily abuse while still making a strong first impression for residents and guests.
We specified a black-and-white marble-look luxury vinyl tile, laid in a classic diagonal checkerboard, paired with a durable commercial-grade carpet insert at the door for extra moisture control.

The Challenge
Coastal entrances face sand, salt air, and near-constant moisture, all of which quickly wear down standard flooring. The space also needed to feel elevated rather than purely utilitarian, since it is the first thing residents and visitors see.
Our Solution
We selected a waterproof luxury vinyl tile with a convincing marble visual, installed on the diagonal for a classic, formal look, and paired it with a commercial carpet zone at the entry to capture grit before it reaches the tile.
Our installation included:
- Subfloor moisture assessment
- Layout planning for a diagonal checkerboard pattern
- Precision cutting and tile installation
- Entry carpet insert fitting
- Final inspection and walkthrough
The Finished Result
The entrance now combines everyday durability with a polished, timeless look. The waterproof tile handles sand and moisture without issue, and the diagonal checkerboard pattern gives the space a sense of formality residents notice right away.
